In 1992, Mr. Jeremy Smith joined the company, bringing a background in aerospace—specifically in missile target manufacturing—and expertise in GRP through his work in Hot Rod and drag racing body repairs.
With two visionaries at the helm, Stepart continued to expand into new industries, particularly in hot plastic welding, fume extraction, and plastic ductwork. We had already built experience in fume cupboard repairs and associated systems, which naturally aligned with this evolution.
This commitment to excellence—treating every project with care, from the initial brief to final delivery—is deeply embedded in our values. Every member of our team upholds this ethic, ensuring that every product meets the highest
standards, no matter the scale or sector.
In 2019, Steve retired, and Jeremy became the majority shareholder, alongside his wife Angela, who joined the leadership team. Angela’s corporate experience across project management, the NHS, insurance, and sustainability brought a fresh dimension to the business. Her passion for upcycling and environmental responsibility is reflected in our goal to recycle 100% of our waste within the next two years—just another way we aim to “do things properly.”
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Stepart rose to the challenge. As an approved contractor, we experienced our busiest year, playing a key role in setting up laboratories nationwide for the pharmaceutical sector. Alongside this, we secured major contracts in the rail industry— further proof of our versatility and reliability in critical environments.
On the back of that success, and in an increasingly competitive market, we’re proud to announce that Stepart is fully managed in-house. With a passionate and experienced team, we are focused on a bigger, brighter future.
